Move your Loops to Playlists
Loops in the Legacy UI are being retired. Playlists are their replacement in the new UI — an easy, drag-and-drop editor for simple, repeating content. This guide shows two ways to move a Loop to a Playlist: let the new UI convert it for you, or rebuild it by hand.
Loop creation is retired during September–October 2026, and Loop editing during November–December 2026. After that, Loops can no longer be created or edited in the Legacy UI, and the Legacy UI is removed completely at the end of 2026. Move the Loops you still use to Playlists before those dates.
Convert it in the new UI (fastest)
The quickest way is to let the new UI convert the Loop for you. There are two ways to do it, and both produce a Playlist:
- Open and save: open the Loop in the new (2.1) Playlist editor and save it. The Loop is converted into a Playlist.
Most of the Loop's settings are carried over automatically, but not all of them. After converting, open the new Playlist and check the page durations, scheduling, and audio, and adjust anything that didn't come across.
Saving a Loop in the new UI permanently turns it into a Playlist. A Playlist — whether it started as one or was converted from a Loop — cannot be opened or edited in the legacy Loop editor, and there is no way to turn it back into a Loop. If you still need the Loop in the Legacy UI, duplicate the loop on the legacy ui, or wait to convert it until you are ready to switch over.
Rebuild it by hand
If you would rather start fresh — for example, to reorganize the content as you move it — build a new Playlist from scratch. Use this table to match each part of your Loop to its Playlist equivalent:

Step 1 — Create a Playlist
- Open the Contents menu.
- Select the Playlists tab.
- Create a new Playlist, give it a name, and open it.
Step 2 — Add your slides as pages
In the Loop editor you added slides from the Image, Video, Audio, and Layout tabs. In the Playlist editor you do the same from the source selector on the left. Each source becomes a page on the right (the Playlist designer).
- Media (image, video, audio): drag the file into the playlist. You can also drag a whole folder to add all its files as one page.
- Layout slides: rebuild the layout as a Slide, then add it as a Slide page.
- Templates: add a Template page.
- Embedded loops: add another Playlist as a page.
Sources can be added with a double-click or by drag-and-drop.

Step 3 — Set each page's duration
Each page uses the default duration from Playlist settings, and you can adjust any page individually — the same as setting the length of each slide in a Loop.
If all your pages should play for the same length, set the Default Media Duration once in Playlist settings — every page inherits it, so you don't have to enter the duration page by page.

Step 4 — Recreate scheduling
If your Loop used Only-play to control when a slide appeared, set the equivalent on each page. Switch to the Scheduler view to choose the days and times each page plays.
If several pages share the same schedule, you don't have to set each one from scratch — copy the scheduling from one page and paste it onto another.
Step 5 — Save your Playlist
Save the Playlist so your pages, durations, and scheduling are stored and ready to play.
Step 6 — Assign it to your screens
Assign the Playlist directly to the screens that should play it — the same screens your Loop played on. You can do this from either side:
- From the Playlist: open the playlist's settings (the gear button in its details) and use the Device section, or open the playlist card's three-dot (⋮) menu, then choose Assign to device and select your screens.
- From the device: in the Devices menu, open a device's settings (the gear button) or its three-dot (⋮) menu and choose Assign content, then select the Playlist.

Advanced options
A few Loop options live in different places on a Playlist:
- Mute is in the playlist's Audio settings. See Background Audio and Audio Ducking for the full audio layer, including a continuous background track.
- Global defaults for every page are in Playlist settings.

Result
Your Playlist now plays the same content your Loop did, and you manage it in the new UI. Playlists can also be reused inside Channels for more advanced scheduling later on.
