Legacy UI Retirement
The Legacy UI is being phased out in favor of the new UI (version 2.1).
This page describes how the retirement process works, what users will experience along the way, and the full schedule of feature removals.
The Legacy UI will be completely retired by the end of 2026.
Once a feature has reached the end of its retirement phase, it will no longer be accessible in the Legacy UI. Users attempting to open it will be automatically redirected to the new UI equivalent.
How the retirement works
Phased feature retirement
- Features are removed in bi-monthly (2-month) phases, as defined in the schedule below.
- Each phase targets specific menus or functionalities for deprecation.
User notifications & transition experience
To make the rollout easy to follow, every affected menu and feature is tagged with a small badge directly in the Legacy UI:
- ⚠️ Yellow exclamation – the feature is currently in its 2-month retirement process. It still works in the Legacy UI, but it is on its way out.
- ❗ Red exclamation – the feature has been retired. It is no longer available in the Legacy UI and is exclusively accessible from the new UI.
In addition to the badge, at the start of each 2-month period users accessing an affected feature in the Legacy UI will see a popup letting them know that the feature is moving to the new UI.
The popup includes:
- The feature name and the exact retirement date (for example, "Settings -> Advertisers is moving to the new UI — This feature will be retired on 7/1/2026.").
- A reminder that the Legacy UI will be retired completely by the end of 2026.
- A Learn more here link pointing to this page.
- Two action buttons:
- Go to the new UI – redirects the user to the corresponding feature in the new interface.
- Cancel – allows the user to continue using the Legacy UI feature for now.
If the user selects Cancel, the popup is suppressed for one week.
- During the final two weeks before retirement, the popup appears daily. In this stage the Cancel button only silences the popup until the next day, instead of for a full week.
- During the final two days before retirement, the popup appears every single time the user opens the affected feature or clicks the menu — there is no way to suppress it.
Feature deactivation
At the end of each feature's 2-month phase:
- The popup will no longer be shown.
- Users attempting to access the feature in the Legacy UI will be automatically redirected to its new UI equivalent.

Policy for Partner Servers updating to 2.1 from an older server version
Servers upgraded to version 2.1 do not go through the full phased retirement process from the beginning. Instead, they align immediately with the current state of the Legacy UI retirement at the time of the update.
This means:
- If certain features or menus have already been retired, they will no longer be available on the upgraded server.
- If the upgrade occurs during an active retirement phase, only the remaining steps of that phase will apply.
- If the upgrade happens after the complete retirement of the Legacy UI, the Legacy UI will not be available at all.
In effect, upgrading to 2.1 results in an immediate transition to the latest stage of the retirement timeline, rather than replaying earlier phases. Users on upgraded servers will experience a direct and clean switch based on the current rollout status.
