User Access Levels - Partner portal vs Client portal

Users Assigned to Partner (Network Owner) portal

Partner System-Level AdministratorsPartner Portal-Level Users
  • Created by Partner Portal-Level Administrators
  • Administrators who have Access Network Member privilege
  • Can access multiple member portals
  • Manage Network/Partner system
  • Can create administrators and users at three levels:
    • Network-wide administrators
    • Partner portal-specific administrators and users
    • Member-specific administrators and Users
  • Created by Partner Portal-Level Administrators
  • Administrators who do not have Access Network Member privilege
  • All other users in the Partner portal at or below Technical Manager level
  • Cannot access multiple member portals
  • Manage only Network Owner/Partner portal
  • Can create administrators and users at two levels:
    • Network-wide administrators
    • Partner portal-specific administrators and users
  • Cannot create Member-specific administrators and users

Users Assigned to Client (Network Member) portal

Client Portal-Level AdministratorsClient Portal-Level Users
  • Created within a specific member workspace by Partner System-Level Administrators or Client-Level Administrators
  • Cannot access multiple member portals
  • Administrator level users in the Client portal
  • Manage only Network Member/Client portal
  • Can create administrators and users at two local levels:
    • Client Portal-Level administrators
    • Client Portal-Level users
  • Created within a specific member workspace by Partner System-Level Administrators or Client-Level Administrators
  • Cannot access multiple member portals
  • All other users in the Client portal at or below Technical Manager level
  • Manage only Network Member/Client portal
  • Cannot create any administrators or users

Creating a Partner User

Who can do this: Partner System Administrator or Partner Portal Administrator

Steps:

  1. Go to Settings > Users
  2. Click the (Add) icon
  3. Fill in the mandatory (marked by ) information:
    • Name : Display name
    • Email - Login username
    • Language - Display language for the user
    • Role - Permission level (Administrator, Content Manager, etc.)
  4. Can access network members - Toggle this option to enable Administrator level users to navigate Network/Partner system
  5. Optional settings:
    • Password - Optional. Users receive a registration email to set their own password.
    • The rest of the form details are optional

  6. Click Save

Creating a Member User from Partner Portal

Who can do this: Partner System Administrator only

Steps:

  1. Go to Network > Users
  2. Click the (Add) icon

  1. Fill in the mandatory (marked by ) information:
    • Name : Display name
    • Email - Login username
    • Language - Display language for the user
    • Role - Permission level (Administrator, Content Manager, etc.)
    • Members - Select the Member/Client portal for this user
  2. Optional settings:
    • Password - Optional. Users receive a registration email to set their own password.
    • The rest of the form details are optional

  3. Click Save

Creating a Member User from Client Portal

Who can do this: Partner System Administrator who switches to Client portal and Client portal-level Administrator

Steps:

  1. Partner System Administrator switches to Network Member. Client-level Administrator no action required
  2. Go to Settings > Users
  3. Click the (Add) icon
  4. Fill in the mandatory (marked by ) information:
    • Name : Display name
    • Email - Login username
    • Language - Display language for the user
    • Role - Permission level (Administrator, Content Manager, etc.)
  5. Optional settings:
    • Password - Optional. Users receive a registration email to set their own password.
    • The rest of the form details are optional

  6. Click Save

When to Use Each Method

Use Partner Portal > Settings option when:

  • User needs to manage Partner system or Partner portal
  • Created user is a network administrator or partner portal user

Use Partner Portal > Network option when:

  • User needs to manage Partner system
  • Centralized user management needed
  • Created user is part of a Member portal

Use Client Portal > Settings when:

  • Not recommended for Partner system managers. Use Partner Portal > Network option instead to avoid switching between members.
  • User only needs access to one location
  • Location manages their own staff
  • Standard operational users (content editors, view-only, etc.)
