A UI Profile rule controls whether a specific element of the interface — a menu, tab, button, or action — is shown to or hidden from a user. Rules are organized by the UI area they belong to, mirroring the product's menus. Each area has its own page (below), listing that area's rules together with the default value for each user role.
How a rule actually resolves is more involved — it depends on the show / hide / inherit states, the layered profile hierarchy (System-level → Server-wide → Customer → Preset → User), and each user's role minimums. For the full picture, see About User Interface Profiles.
