Contents Widget

With the Contents Widget, you can display multiple contents or loops inside your main content.

Called the Playlist widget in the Slide Designer

This is the same widget under a different name. The Slide Designer shows it as the Playlist widget, with its own icon, because there you insert playlists rather than a list of contents. It is fully compatible with the Slide Designer, and everything on this page applies to it.

Please note:

Without Performance Mode, the Contents widget runs in an iframe, which inherently has performance issues on some devices due to the iframe implementation on the platform. The widget loads another instance of the entire displayer (or loop displayer with loops) within the iframe. This results in substantial extra workload on the device, especially if multiple widgets are used simultaneously.

Performance Mode avoids that second displayer instance: the embedded content is played by the slide engine of the content it sits in. Turning it on is the first thing to try when playback is heavy on a device. It does not change what Proof of Play reports or who is credited. Learn more: Performance Mode.

Please use this widget while keeping performance in mind.

Properties​

Contents​

In the Content Menu, you can select contents and loops you want to display in your main content by clicking on the "Choose content" button.

By clicking on the "Choose content" button, the content browser appears where you can select the Loops, Contents, or Schedules you want to play. You can search for the name and type if there are multiple contents. Multiple contents and loops can be selected at a time.

You can also decide whether the widget shall:

  • Be interactive
  • Be randomized
  • Use different data rows
  • Allow each data row

Dynamic duration (per item)​

Each selected source (content, slide, or playlist) in the Contents widget has its own dynamic duration toggle. Set it individually per item:

  • Dynamic — the item plays for the full duration defined by the content/slide/playlist itself.
  • Static — the item plays for the static duration value configured on the widget.

Performance mode​

Performance mode is a performance boosting tool that can make your content seamless and well.

  • This option cannot work with dynamic actions and dynamic pages.

Size & Position​

In the Size & Position Menu, you can select the width, height, and placement of your widget quickly.

Effects​

In the Effects Menu, you can set the Rounding and Opacity of your widget.

Screen fit​

With Performance Mode enabled, this widget can override how the content it plays is sized, and align it when the aspect ratios differ. Learn more: Screen fit for embedded content.

Proof of Play​

Learn more: Enable reporting (Content) and Enable reporting (Slide).

This widget plays other content inside your content, so each level reports separately and keeps its own advertiser. Learn more: Embedded content and nested playlists.

Additional Effects​

In the additional Effects Menu, you can:

  • Select a Background image or Color for your widget.
  • Enable the Click through function to interact with other widgets behind this one.
  • Add a Shadow and Border to your widget.

Animation​

In the Animation Menu, you can choose the Enter and Exit animations of your widget.

Additional Properties​

Under the Jump Menu, you can click on the three dots to access Additional Properties (aka MORE). However, this section is not detailed in the current documentation.
