Countdown
The Countdown widget type displays a countdown timer until a specific event starts. The countdown updates every second for real-time accuracy.
Configuration Options
Display Format
You can customize the display format of the countdown:
- HH:mm:ss (default): Shows hours, minutes, and seconds (e.g., "02:30:45").
- HH:mm: Shows only hours and minutes (e.g., "02:30").
Position
Set the position of the countdown within the widget. Available positions:
- Top-Left, Top-Center, Top-Right
- Center-Left, Center-Center (default), Center-Right
- Bottom-Left, Bottom-Center, Bottom-Right
Mode
Select the working mode for the countdown:
- Specific event (default): Countdown to a specific event by name. You must enter the exact event title in the "Event" field.
- Next event: Automatically countdown to the next upcoming event in your calendar. When that event starts, it automatically moves to the next one.
Event
Specify the event to which the countdown will be tied (only visible when Mode is "Specific event"). Enter the exact name/title of the event you wish to countdown to.
Specific event mode:
- Searches for the first upcoming event matching the exact title you specified.
- If no matching event is found, displays an overlay message: "No event found with name: [event name]".
- When the countdown reaches zero, displays "Countdown over." and triggers a "free" sensor event.
Next event mode:
- Automatically finds and counts down to the next upcoming event.
- When that event starts, it automatically searches for the next upcoming event.
- If no upcoming events exist, displays "No upcoming events."
Font Settings
Customize the countdown text appearance:
- Font Style: Choose from bold, italic, or underline to customize the appearance.
- Font Color: Select the color for the countdown text to match your design.
The countdown uses the global font family and font size from the General Settings section. The countdown-specific font settings (style, color) are applied on top of the global settings.
Sensor Events
In Specific event mode, when the countdown reaches zero, the widget triggers a sensor event:
- free: Triggered with color #00FF00 (green) when the countdown is complete.
