Supported file formats by Wallboard
The following file formats are supported by Wallboard system
However some specific formats and containers may not be supported by a given platform, a specific device, or a specific Webview version.
This article attempts to summarize the most common limitations, however it is always advisable to check with the hardware supplier's page to be informed about file format and playback limitations.

Supported file formats in File manager
As a general rule we are using chromium based content viewers. If the file format is not supported by chromium we do not allow uploading these files.
The following file formats are uploadable to Wallboard's file manager, and are able to sync via Shared folder

Windows
Windows offers extensive customizability, allowing any video codec to be installed and thus supporting a wide range of formats.
As a general rule, Windows devices can play the same videos as Android devices and even more, thanks to the broader selection of codecs available on Windows.
However, it's important to note that limitations on stream playback on Windows are related to streaming protocols rather than codecs.

BrightSign
Please be aware that BrightSign devices might have limitations on what kind of images videos and audios they are capable of playing.

The following image types are supported on BrightSign players:

JPEG files that use the CMYK, grayscale, or black & white color spaces are not supported.

The maximum supported image resolution is 4096x2160x32bpp for XT4 and XT3 models, while other models support images up to 2048x1280x32bpp.

- BMP: 8, 24, and 32 bit
- PNG and JPEG formats (progressive jpegs not supported)
