Installation on Sony signage displays

Requirements

• Sony Bravia Pro Display with Android TV 10 operating system.
• USB Flash drive (FAT32 formatted)
• WbDeviceService application

Installation steps

1. Perform a Factory reset on the Sony display.

   Factory Reset location: Settings -> System -> About -> Reset -> Factory Data Reset

2. After the Factory reset is complete do NOT start the initial setup!
3. Connect the USB flash drive to the Sony display with the WbDeviceService.pkg on it in the root directory
4. Wait for the display to recognize the USB flash drive (It might take a few seconds)
5. The display will ask permissions for the NodeRuntimeNormal and for the **NodeRuntimePrivilege ** grant the permissions for them
6. The Bravia Software installer will start and will show that the application is ready to install
7. Press install
8. Accept the Sony License agreement
   caution

   You might have to scroll to the bottom of the License Agreement for the Accept button to become available

9. Wait for the application installation to finish
10. After the installation is complete the display will ask if you want to activate the application as a device owner press Activate
11. After the process finished you can remove the USB flash drive
12. Finish the Android initial setup process
13. After the process finished enter the code on the remote to access the Pro settings mode

    Pro settings code: Display -> Mute -> Volume up -> Home

14. Go to the Settings app and then into the Pro settings
15. Grant the permissions for the Pro settings
16. Do NOT start Pro mode yet
17. Go down to the Initial source and volume section
18. Set the Initial input source to Android app and choose the DeviceService application from the list
19. Exit to the Android TV home
    note

    Now it is a good time to set up the device's network connection in the Settings application if you have not done so already

20. Start the DeviceService application
21. Enter your server url and press Accept
22. Wait for the application to download the Signage application from your server
23. The DeviceService application will launch the Signage application by itself, grant all the permission for the Signage application
24. After the Signage application has finished the registration go to the Android TV home
25. Go to Settings, and then into Pro settings
26. Go down to the Function restrictions section and to Apps
27. Find the Signage application in the list (for example Wallboard Display), press it, and then enable it
28. Go to the top and press Start Pro mode, the display will now reboot and will launch the Signage application automatically
