2.1
Rollout Status
Version 2.1 is currently being deployed as part of a phased rollout. Each server will be updated individually over the coming period.
Breaking Changes
- Legacy UI transition: As part of the transition to the new UI, certain features will become exclusive to the new interface over time. Accessing these menus in the legacy UI will automatically redirect you to the new UI. Additional menus will follow in future releases.
Headline Features in 2.1
- AI-Powered Datasources: New Web Scraper and AI Datasource types. Extract information from any website using plain English, combine and process multiple datasources with built-in web search, social media monitoring, and smart data transformation.
- Slide Widget Embedding: Slides can now embed other slides and playlists, enabling multi-zone layouts without using Content. Build reusable templates with dynamic zones directly in playlists.
- Shared Datasource Editing: Share special links that allow non-technical users (restaurant managers, reception staff, store managers) to update datasource content without logging into Wallboard, with configurable permissions and row locking.
- External Website in Separate Webview: Display external websites with full native performance in a dedicated webview instead of an embedded iframe, with optional script injection and layer ordering control.
- Extended Datasource Mappers: Datasource mappers now support multiple datasource inputs and flexible output options (mock datasource, property path, or internal datasource overwrite).
- Power BI Integration: Connect directly to Power BI reports and display them as high-quality images on any device. No Power BI license needed on the player. Requires Premium, Embedded, or Fabric capacity.
- Native SAML & OAuth SSO: Enterprise single sign-on built right in. Connect to Azure AD / Entra ID, Okta, OneLogin, and any SAML 2.0 or OpenID Connect provider.
- Enhanced Admin Controls: Redesigned two-factor authentication with setup/teardown wizard, force-2FA enforcement, and TOTP verification for sensitive operations. Magic code login for passwordless authentication. Improved bot protection with reCAPTCHA integration.
