My synced folder does not sync
Find your symptom and work through its checklist. Each point links to the full explanation in About synced folders.
A file changed in the cloud, but Wallboard still has the old version
- The folder uses Passive sync. Passive sync never downloads a changed file again, by design. If edits should reach the screens, switch to Active sync with Smart file update in folder menu > Edit synchronisation settings. Which mode to use
- The change has not been picked up yet. Use Force synchronisation in the folder menu.
The file updated in the folder, but the screen still shows the old one
- The file is selected individually and the folder uses Active sync without Smart file update. The new version is a new file, so the old reference is lost. See File in synced folder does not update in content.
A file never shows up
- Its file type is not selected in Edit synchronisation settings.
- Its subfolder is excluded in Edit structure.
- It is larger than the server's upload limit. It is skipped without a message.
- Your storage is full. Skipped files are recorded in the Logs.
- The account behind the credential cannot see it. Sharing it with your own account is not enough.
- Microsoft: the folder is not on the credential's access list. See below.
Microsoft: a subfolder, or everything below a certain level, is missing
The credential's access list is checked folder by folder, and access to a parent does not include its subfolders. Ask the credential's Manager user to add the missing subfolders, or to check whether the item was moved in Microsoft to a place that is not on the list. Who can reach what
Files disappeared from the synced folder
With Sync file removal or Sync folder removal on, Wallboard removes what the sync can no longer see. Check whether:
- the item was deleted or moved away in the cloud,
- a file type was deselected, or a subfolder excluded in Edit structure,
- on Microsoft, the item dropped off the credential's access list,
- the file was uploaded into the synced folder directly in Wallboard. A synced folder with Sync file removal on holds only what is in the cloud, so such files are removed at the next sync.
Nothing syncs at all
- Automatic sync is off. Turn it back on with Toggle synchronisation.
- The credential needs signing in again, for example after a password change. Ask whoever manages it in Settings > Cloud Credentials.
- The connected root folder was deleted or moved in the cloud. Connect the folder again.
