Add device

When you add a device to the server, it instantly appears in the devices modal.

You can find 3 settings in the Add device modal:

Basic settings

In Basic settings, you can configure essential device parameters.

Required

  • Name
  • Temporary id / Serial

    To register a device you have 2 different methods:

      • To register with Temporary id, enter the 4-digit code from the screen.
      • To register via serial, you have to enter the 8+ digit serial number of the device.
        • Registration via serial number cannot work with android devices.

  • License order
    Here you can select the license for your device.

Optional

  • Device Policies

    WARNING: Selecting a Device policy will result in the loss of all current settings, which will be replaced with those specified in the Device Policy configuration.

    If you with to use Device policies for device registration, you need to create a predefined rules in Device Policies menu for device assignment processes.

    Only applications with 4.0 or higher support this functionality. The only exception is the Desktop Broadcast App.

  • Pre-register

    INFO: You cannot activate it until you enter an 8+ digit serial number into the Temporary id / Serial box.

    To pre-register a device, enter an 8+ digit serial number in the Temporary ID / Serial box. This will create a pre-registered device that can be managed as an offline screen. Once the device is registered on the server, the pre-registered device will become fully functional.

  • Content
    Optionally you can choose a content, that will get assigned to the screen at the moment of registration.
  • Teams
    Here you can select teams to manage and see the device
    This option is only available if the customer has at least one team available.

Advanced settings

In Advanced settings, you can configure optional device parameters.

  • Volume

  • Brightness

  • Folders
    Here, you can choose whether the device should be placed in the root folder or another location of your preference.

  • Rotation
    Here you can select the rotation for your device.
    • Rotation type
      Here, you can define the rotation type for your device, choosing between screen type and content type.

  • Emergency content
    Here you can pre-set a default emergency content or playlist for your devices
  • Emergency status
    Here you can define whether the device is in emergency state or not.

Location

  • Time zone
  • Weather location

Configs

  • Datasources
    Here you can bind a datasource directly to the device, then this will be the primary datasource for contents
  • Data row id
    Here you can bind a data row id directly to the device,then this will be the primary data row id for contents
  • Sensor config
    Here you can set sensor configuration to the device.

  • Advanced config
    Here you can set advanced configuration to the device.

Console

  • Show device name
  • Show console
  • Show device info
  • Show state indicator

 

Working hours

Working hours of devices can be set from the UI. This way you can control the uptime of your devices to save energy and guarantee optimal operations.
