How does Wallboard collect Proof of play reports
In this article we will answer the most frequently asked questions about Report collecting in our system
If I rename a file, the old or the new one will appear in the Proof of play report?
If you rename a file in Wallboard, the Proof of Play report will show the new (renamed) file name.
- Wallboard tracks files based on their current name in the system, so once you rename a file, all future Proof of Play records will display the updated name.
- This helps keep your reporting consistent with your current file management and makes it easier to identify files in your reports.
Does the report connect to the name or the ID?
The Proof of Play report in Wallboard is tied to the file's unique ID, not the file name.
- This means that even if you rename a content or a file, the system continues to track it using its internal ID.
- The displayed name in the report will update to the new name after you rename the file, but the underlying tracking remains consistent because it is based on the file's ID.
If I rename a file, will the history stay linked to the device ID so I can see reports before and after?
Yes, if you change the name of your file, the Proof of Play records will continue to be linked to the same file because they are tracked by the file's unique ID, not just the name.
This means:
- Historical records from before the rename will still appear in your reports.
- After you rename the file, new records will show the updated file name.
- All Proofs of Play data (before and after renaming) remain connected to the same file, and you will see the complete playback history in your reports.
- You will be able to view the reports for both before and after the renaming, with the file name reflecting the current name.
How long does Wallboard store historical data about Proof of play?
Proof of play data for existing entities are stored for up to one year, but can only be accessed only in 3-month batches under Analytics menu.
- If an entity has been removed from the system, the proof of play data will be deleted with it.
How long does it take to upload the Proof of play data to the server?
The proof of play data takes samples approximately 15 minutes intervals.
