Channels

A channel in Wallboard is a container that allows you to organize, manage, and schedule different types of content (such as slides, media files, playlists, or even other channels) for playback on your devices.

  • Channels make it easy to control the sequence and timing of content, ensuring your screens always display the right information at the right time.

Create Channel

  • Navigate to Channels menu
  • Click on the button next to the Channels header.
  • This will open the channel editor

Channel editor has 3-main parts that will define the behavior of the created channels:

What to play

In What to play you can define which type of source you want to use as channel items.

Contents, Slides and Playlists

If you select this source type, you can select multiple Contents, Slides or Playlists in one of the following ways:

Images, Videos, PDFs

If you select this source type, you can select media files to display in your channel in one of the following ways:

Contents and Media files as a Sub channel group

You can display multiple "small channels" called Sub channels in a single channel, if you select Sub channel group as a source type.

When to play

In When to play modal you can define intervals for your channel.

Where to play

In Where to play modal you can define which devices are allowed to play the given channel.

You have several options to define the allowed device list:

Publish & Display Channel

When you finished the channel creation, click on the icon to open Publish settings.

  • Here you can disable the channel if you do not want it to be active after save.

Tags

  • You can select or add tags to separate channels from each other.

Advertiser

  • With Advertiser you can gain advertiser report from the whole channel.

Display Channel

  • To display channels on devices, you have to create a content or slide that contains at least 1 channel widget.

Channels Overview

In Channels menu, you can see and manage your already existing channel.

  • You can select view in the top-right corner with the icon.

Card view & Scheduling view

In card view you can see the currently set schedule on the channel's cards.

  • In the top-right corner of the screen above the channel cards, you can use the date selector to switch between scheduled weeks.

  • You can also manage the channels from here. Actions you can do here:

    • Enable, Disable channel
    • Lock channel
    • Edit channel
    • Duplicate channel
    • Manage tags
    • Manage teams
    • Visit Analytics >> Proof of play
    • Remove channel
